Glutathione IV

Glutathione IV

Glutathione  is a powerful anti-oxidant has many health benefits.  Antioxidants are our body’s solution for dealing with oxidative stress. Oxidative stress occurs when there is a disruption of the balance  between the production of free radicals and the ability of naturally occurring antioxidants like glutathione  in our bodies  to  neutralize and detoxify their harmful effects. A free radical is an oxygen containing molecule that has unpaired electrons that makes it highly reactive with  other molecules in the body. This reaction can be good but it can also be bad for the body because it can damage cells and their components i.e DNA, cell walls, protein and lipids, which makes cells unstable.  This instability can lead to neurodegenerative diseases, Alzheimer’s disease,  cancer, chronic fatigue, cardiovascular disease and inflammatory diseases.  Glutathione plays essential  roles in the immune response, DNA repair, and the detoxification process that neutralizes drugs, chemicals, metabolic wastes  and other toxins. Its  depletion is associated with disease and  premature aging. The benefits of glutathione far outweigh any potential side effects that only occur with extremely high doses of glutathione typically not used in medical practice.

Used to treat diseases such as cancer, autism and liver illnesses, glutathione was found to have skin lightening as a side effect. Patients discovered found that their skin became lighter during glutathione treatments for medical condition.  It appears that glutathione may have skin lightening effects  based on its ability to impact  the balance of light and dark pigments in our skin (pheomelanin and eumelanin).   Glutathione  inhibits tyrosinase enzyme  which then switches the production of eumelanin to pheomelanin.  Its lightening effects appear to work better when combined with IV vitamin C.  Glutathione injections are given with vitamin C because it helps  glutathione to stay  in its most active form.   Vitamin C has been scientifically proven to raise the levels of glutathione in the body. Glutathione also appears to work by  ridding the body of toxins and free radicals that lead to hyperpigmentation, age spots, sun spots, wrinkles and conditions such as melasma. Glutathione Skin Lightening for skin whitening is considered the safest and most effective of all skin whitening products.

To improve the effectiveness, avoid stress, alcohol, smoking and exposure to the sun. Once you achieve the desired results, remember to use broad spectrum sunscreen every day to protect your melanin less skin from the harmful UV rays that can cause skin cancer. While most experts say that controlled amounts of glutathione are not harmful, it is very important for you to disclose your medical history to the doctor before starting the course. Here is list of those who may not be candidates for glutathione skin lightening treatments:

  • History of allergic reactions or sensitivity to glutathione
  • Patients that have Stevens Johnson Syndrome
